The Totalism Guitar Octet
The Totalism Guitar Octet is a new electric guitar ensemble based in Berlin. The group is a resurrection of the iconic guitar ensemble format initially made famous through the work of American composers Glenn Branca and Rhys Chatham. Rather than simply recreating forty-year-old sounds, the group will galvanize this dormant performance framework through the fresh stylistic approaches of its diverse group of Berlin-based musicians, as well as pursue the discovery of new sonic territory within a context that is borderless, inclusive, and joyfully collaborative.
Formed by Aidan Baker (Nadja, Tavare) and Adam Hocker, The Totalism Guitar Octet also includes guitarists Dirk Dresselhaus (ScheiderTM, Krautfuzz, Faust), Mika Bajinksi (Sometimes With Others), Kim Vu (Hugging), Liú Mottes (Alien Baby Collective, Lucy Kruger & The Lost Boys), bassist Tristen Bakker (Vrouw!, Tavare), and drummer Tim Wyskida (Khanate, Blind Idiot God, Insect Ark).

I Remember You
“I Remember You #2: Paraffin” is the second performance in a concert series and interdisciplinary collaboration between vocalist/dance artist Agnė Auželytė and musician/composer Jaike Stambach. Combining their different artistic backgrounds, they reflect on the question of live performance versus its documentation and preservation. Each event distills music into objects that consider the value of memory in an age of relentless creation and archiving of digital content.
